 Usage

1. Sorbitol can be used for washing protoplast spheres and minimizing the internal osmotic flow in agarose gels as much as possible during isoelectric focusing, and it can be used to induce osmotic stress.
2. It can be used in biochemical research, for acid-base titration of boric acid, for the preparation of sorbitol and vitamin C; it can be used as a biochemical reagent, thickener and hardener, and can also be used to prepare plasticizers and antifreeze agents in alkyd resins.
3. Pharmaceutical-grade sorbitol is used for preparing injections, large infusions and oral suspensions, while food-grade is used in chewing gum, sugar-free candies, etc.
4. It is used as a food moisture regulator, aroma preservative, antioxidant, cosmetic raw material, in the production of toothpaste, tobacco, leather and ink, as a substitute for glycerol as a moisture control agent, a raw material for adhesives and diuretics and cholagogues.
5. It can also be used as a sweetener; a moisturizing agent (mainly for patients with diabetes, liver diseases, cholecystitis, etc.); a chelating agent; a tissue improvement agent (such as making cake tissue fine and preventing starch aging); a raw material for the synthesis of vitamin C; in beverages, it has the effect of masking the bitter taste after saccharin sodium and thickening the taste of sweet substances; used in chocolate, candies, ice cream, food color diluents, therapeutic sauce; cake prefabricated powder; paste, etc.
