Lignin: A Green Bio-Based New Material Derived from Nature

Lignin is one of the most abundant natural aromatic polymers in nature, widely present in grasses, woods and other plants. It is also a core product of resource utilization in the agricultural and forestry pulping industry. Adhering to the concept of circular economy, traditional pulping by-products are refined and upgraded into high-quality eco-friendly new materials that replace petroleum-based chemical raw materials, providing strong support for the low-carbon transformation of various industries.

As a natural bio-based raw material, lignin features carbon neutrality, biodegradability and non-toxicity, fully complying with dual-carbon goals and green production standards. Rich in active functional groups such as hydroxyl and carboxyl groups in its molecular structure, lignin exhibits excellent comprehensive properties including dispersion, chelation, anti-oxidation, UV resistance, emulsification and adhesion. With superior plasticity, it can be modified to adapt to diverse industrial scenarios with stable and practical performance.

Benefiting from its versatile performance, lignin covers a wide range of core application fields. In the construction industry, it serves as an efficient water reducer to optimize concrete mixing performance and improve engineering quality. In the chemical industry, it acts as a stabilizer for dyes, pesticides and asphalt emulsifiers. In agriculture, it is made into slow-release fertilizer carriers and soil conditioners to retain water and fertilizer, activate soil nutrients and promote green planting. In addition, it can be processed into formaldehyde-free adhesives, biodegradable composite materials and carbon materials, greatly reducing the consumption of petrochemical raw materials.

Upcycled from agricultural and forestry waste into high-value industrial new materials, lignin completes the full industrial chain of biomass resource utilization. Replacing fossil raw materials with natural resources and empowering green production through circular economy, lignin continuously helps industries reduce carbon
