 Usage

Ethyl silicate (TEOS) is a colorless liquid, mainly used as heat-resistant coatings, chemical-resistant coatings, silane coupling agents, organic synthesis intermediates, and as a precursor for chemical vapor deposition (CVD)SiO2 films in the semiconductor field, etc. The melting point of ethyl silicate is -77℃, and its boiling point is 165.5℃. It is slightly soluble in water and soluble in ethanol and ether.

It is used as an insulating material in the electronics industry and also as a processing agent for optical glass and a coagulant

Used for precision casting as a binder for sand molds; The metal surface treated with ethyl silicate vapor can prevent corrosion and water. Ethyl silicate can be used to impregnate the surface of metals with silicon, and treating optical glass can increase its light transmittance. The extremely fine silica powder produced after complete hydrolysis can be used to manufacture phosphors. Ethyl silicate is the raw material of silicone oil.
