Introduction
Sodium monofluorophosphate (SMFP for short) is a white powder solid with a melting point of about 626 ℃. It is easily soluble in water and has strong moisture absorption. Its solubility in water at 25 ℃ is 42%. Without the corrosion effect of Chemicalbook, the pH value of 2% aqueous solution is 6.5~8.0, and the aqueous solution slowly hydrolyzes when boiling, which can lead to the reduction of bound fluorine and the increase of free fluorine, so the purity is reduced

Usage
Instead of sodium fluoride, it can be used as an anti caries agent, a tooth desensitizer, a metal surface cleaner, a flux, and a special glass in toothpaste formulations
As an anti caries agent and tooth desensitizer, it generally accounts for 0.7%~0.76% of the toothpaste formula. At present, sodium fluoride has been basically replaced abroad, and it has gained advantages in the competition with stannous fluoride. It is also used for cleaning metal surfaces and as a flux, as well as for making special glasses. It is also used as bactericide and antiseptic.
