 Usage

Benzotriazole (abbreviated as BTA) is a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compound. Its core use is metal rust prevention and corrosion inhibition, and it also has functions such as ultraviolet absorption and stabilization, being widely applied in industrial production, material protection and other fields.

1. Metal Rust Prevention and Corrosion Inhibition (Core Use)

• Mainly used for the corrosion protection of non-ferrous metals such as copper, brass and silver. It can form a dense protective film on the metal surface to prevent oxidation, corrosion and discoloration.
• Commonly used in cooling water systems, metalworking fluids, rust-preventive oils/agents and electroplating processes. It can also be added to coatings and adhesives to improve the corrosion resistance of metal substrates.
• Used for the preservation of cultural relics, electronic components and hardware accessories to prevent metal parts from being damaged due to environmental humidity and medium contact.

2. Water Treatment Field

• As a corrosion and scale inhibitor for circulating cooling water and boiler water, it is used in combination with other water treatment agents to inhibit scaling and corrosion inside metal equipment and extend the service life of equipment.
• Suitable for industrial circulating water systems, central air conditioning cooling water systems, etc., especially for water treatment scenarios with copper-containing materials.

3. Coatings and Polymer Materials

• As an ultraviolet absorber, it is added to polymers such as coatings, plastics and rubber to delay the aging and degradation of materials caused by ultraviolet radiation and extend the service life of products.
• Used in automotive coatings, outdoor architectural coatings, plastic films, etc., to improve the weather resistance and stability of materials.

4. Other Fields

• Used in photographic chemicals and printing inks to improve the stability and application effect of products.
• As an electroplating additive, it optimizes the uniformity and adhesion of electroplating layers and improves the quality of electroplated products.
• Used in the formulation of water treatment agents and metal cleaning agents to enhance the synergistic effect of rust prevention and cleaning of products
